The basics

By using Hype Doc ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. Hype Doc is a personal achievement tracking service. You use it to log your wins and organize them. Simple as that.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Hype Doc. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agrees to these terms on your behalf.

Your account

You need an account to use Hype Doc. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, so keep your email account secure. Do not share your API tokens with anyone you do not trust. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, let us know immediately at hello@myhypedoc.com.

Your data

You own your data. The wins, spaces, and tags you create belong to you. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content. You can access and export your data at any time through the app, API, CLI, or MCP tools.

By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the Service to you. This license ends when you delete your content or your account.

We store your data to provide the service. We do not sell it, mine it, or use it for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Our intellectual property

The Hype Doc name, logo, website design, and application code are the intellectual property of Hype Doc. These terms do not grant you any right to use our branding, trademarks, or other proprietary materials except as needed to use the Service normally.

Acceptable use

Use Hype Doc for its intended purpose: tracking your achievements. Do not use it to:

• Store illegal content
• Abuse the API with excessive automated requests beyond rate limits
• Attempt to access other users' data
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the service
• Resell access to the service
• Transmit malware, viruses, or any harmful code
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service

Free and Pro plans

Hype Doc offers a free tier (up to 50 wins, 3 spaces) and a Pro tier ($5/month, unlimited wins and spaces). Payments are processed through Stripe. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time through the billing portal. When you cancel a Pro subscription, you keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period, then revert to the free plan.

Fees for the Pro plan are non-refundable. When you cancel, you retain Pro access through the end of your current billing period, then revert to the free plan.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email before any price change takes effect.

API, CLI, and MCP access

All plans include access to the REST API, CLI, and MCP server. These are subject to rate limits (100 requests/minute for API, 60 requests/minute for MCP). Do not circumvent rate limits. We may adjust rate limits to maintain service quality.

Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will communicate planned downtime in advance when possible.

Termination

You can stop using Hype Doc and delete your account at any time from Settings. Before deleting your account, we recommend exporting your data using the API or CLI, as deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If we terminate your account for a reason other than a severe violation, we will provide at least 30 days notice and a reasonable opportunity to export your data.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hype Doc, its owners, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

Disclaimer of warranties

Hype Doc is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hype Doc and its owners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Dispute resolution

If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at hello@myhypedoc.com so we can try to resolve it informally. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may pursue formal resolution.

These terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. For any disputes that are not resolved informally, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Entire agreement

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Hype Doc regarding the Service. They supersede any prior agreements or understandings.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, provided the assignee agrees to honor these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
